HOSPITAL MEETING- AT ADDISON'S FLAT.

As wo stated in our last issue, the meeting convened for Wednesday evening last was adjourned till Thursday, Mr O'Conor, one of the delegates, remaining at Addison's for the purpose of attending it. At the appointed hour, in spite of the horrible weather, the large room at the Dan O'Connell Hotel was quickly filled, both storekeepers and diggers attending in troops. Mr D. Garvey was called to the chair, and after briefly stating the objects of the meeting, called upon Mr O'Conor to address those present. Mr O'Conor spoke at some length, and very clearly explained the reasons for the present appeal, together with the contingent advantages to subscribers that would result from contributing, and his remarks were evidently appreciated and gave groat satisfacti m.

Some discussion took place afterwards, in which Mr Gallagher, M.H.R, and Mr Cluue took part, and warmly advocated tho causo. Mr Gallagher then moved that a committee be electod, to collect funds and to co-operate with tho Provisional Hospital Committee at Westport. Mr Carmody seconded tho resolution, which, was carried unanimously. This proposition was then immediately carried out, and tho gentlemen appointed were Messrs Garvoy, Carmody, Williams, Lempfort, Ryan, Mahony, and Fitzgerald. During the proceedings great anxiety was expressed that at tho election of the annual committee, provision should be made for giving subscribers in tho outlying districts an opportunity to vote, without necessitating tho expense and loss of time of a trip to Westport. A hearty response was made to the appeal, and there is no doubt that a largo amount of money will be gathered. The proceedings were conducted in the most orderly manner throughout, and at their conclusion a hearty vote of thanks to the chairman was passed, as also to Mr O'Conor. After this, three cheers were given for Mr Kynnersley and three more for Mr O'Conor, when the meeting separated.
