Waipara, for Brigliton—lS head •cattle, 4 calves, 60 bags potatoes, 1 ton salt, 6 bags carrots, 1 truss hay, J. S. Crocker. Per Kennedy, for Nelson—2 boxes : gold, containing 17500z., Union Bank of Australia. The p.s. left Nelson at 6 p.m. on Monday last for Motueka, where she called for the purpose of taking in twenty tons of potatoes. She left at noon on Tuesday, and had fine weather all the way up, arriving here at 11 a.m. yesterday. She left last night at 11 o'clock for the Grey and Ilokitika. The s.s. Waipara arrived from Wanganui yesterday morning, and sailed the same tide for Brighton, with a large portion of the original ov "v &e.., the property of Mr Crocker. V. e received no files of Wanganui papers so can jdre no further information in reference to the gold hcax at Waitotara. The Waipara is announced to sail this morning for Mokihinui. The Ada, schooner, after a rather long sojourn in the river has been despatched to Mokihinui for coal. She is a vessel well adapted for the trade and will, we believe, be retained in it.
