The barque Nightingale, from Melbourne, was off the bar yesterday, and may be expected to cross as soon as the Lioness arrives from Hokitika. The Bruce, from Hokitika, arrived in port yesterday morning with 40 rank and file and two officers of the Wellington constabulary on board. She left for the Buller on the 13th, but was obliged to put back owing to the heavy weather outside. She left again on the 14th, and succeeded in making her usual successful run down.
