TO THE ELECTORS OP NORTH WESTLAND. n ENTLEMEN The "Writ having been issued for the Election of a Member for North Westland in G-eneral Assembly, I take the earliest opportunity of declaring my intention to solicit your suffrages. It is in the G-eneral Assembly the Groldfields need the advocacy of their claims to those considerations necessary to their advancement, aud this alone can come from parties intimately acquainted with their wants. IT having been decided at a Meeting held at the Dan CTConnell Hotel, on Tuesday evening, tha't a Delegate be sent to Hokitika, to act in conjunction with Delegates from Charleston, Brighton, and the several mining districts on the West Coast, to draw out a petition to Hia Excellency the t Governor of New Zealand, to appoint a Special Commission to enquire into the unwarranted action of the Mayor and Council of Hokitika.
