The puddle steamer Bruce, which left the Buller on Wednesday last at 4.30 p.m., arrived at Fox's at 2.30 a.m., on Thursday ; got to the Grey at 4.45 a.m.; lay in the Grey Fiiv■.■!• until 4.30 p.m., when she left for Hokitika, arriving in the river at 7.30 p.m.; stopped until 9 p.m., when she left for Wesiport, arriving here at 9 a.m. on Friday. She brings two female and five male passengers and reports having experienced a very sevenwind and a rough sea on her passage from Hokitika.
The Escort, advertised to sail for Newcastle, has c ahged her destination, and will proceed direct to the Maryborough goldfk-lds should sufficient inducement offer. Hei cargo is turning out in very good order.
