The screw steamer Wallaby, to which an accident was reported in yesterday's issue, discharged the whole of her cargo, and having succeeded in stopping up the hole in her plate with blankets, wedges, &c, proceeded direct to Nelson at noon yesterday for the purpose of undergoing the necessary repairs. The paddle steamer Brace, from Hokitiki, crossed the bar last evening at 10 o'clock, having left by the morning's tide. She brings several saloon and steerage passengers. The s.s. Murray, left at 1 p.m. yesterday, landing cargo at Brighton in a very rough sea, and arrived at 10 pin. She leaues again at 2 p.m. to-day for Nelson direct, and will be in time to catch the Otago. TheP.N.Z. & A.U.M. Co.'ssteamshipOtago, passed our port last evening bound for Nelson, Southern Ports and Melbourne.

The steamer Tasmanian Maid, wrecked on Taranaki.a few weeks ago, has gone to pieces, and not a fragment is to be seen. The s.s. Otago, from Melbourne, and the s.s. Tararua, from Nelson, arrived at Hokitika on Sunday, and were tendered at once. Yesterday the Perseverance left this port with 87 passengers for tue Tararua, bound for Sydney en route for the Queensland diggings. The Otago proceeds to Nelson, Wellington. and southern ports this day. The s.s. Gothenburg arrived off the bar at 9 p.m. on Saturday night, from Melbourne via New Zealand ports. The moment her gun was fired steam was got up on board the tender Persevere brought to the wharf the passengers and cargo for this port, aud the Gothenlmrgh sailed at 8 a.m. for Melbourne v;a Hokitika. 2000 ozs, of gold were shipped nr this port from the Bank of New South Wales.
