James Balfoub, Marine Engineer. Frith of Thames, Hauraki Gulp. Harbour Office, Auckland, Ist January, 18C8. BUOY IN SANDSPIT PASSAGE, POOTJI. Notice is hereby given that a Can Buoy (Red) has been plated on the end of the Spit running out N.E. from the Island of Pakiki towards the Island of Ponui. The buoy is moored in twelve (12) feet of water at low water spring tides on the following compass bearings:— Northern extreme of Ponui, E. .V N. ; High Peak of Pakiki, S.W. \ W. The channel between the buoy and Ponui is a cable's length in width, and has a depth of three to three and a-half fathoms at low water. I. J. PjFEOESS, Port Master. Light at Jacob's River, Foveaux Strait. notice to ro atm en frequenting the fort of rivkrton. On and after the first day of March next, a Red Light will be shown on the South Head, near the Flagstaff, from sunset till sunrise.
