Sir,—Will you kindly grant me space to correct a paragraph that appeared in your paper of yesterday, relative to the land granted to the Maories, as well as in vindication of of the surveyors, &c., in -which you stated that, "by each successive surveyor having altered the boundary-pegs of the block, giving rise to inumerable sectional disputes." This, Sir, I most emphatically deny, for both myself and Mr Greenwood have surveyed that block, and agreed exactly. If you enquire a little more into it I think you will find it rests with the Native Commissioner who first surveyed it, I believe with u JPhormiu?n Tenax" in place of a chain, many years back never dreaming of the land in so out of a way conntry would ever become of any value, and likewise by the leases granted not agreeing with the plan sent down by the Commissioner. I am, Sir, J. W. Gr. Beauchamp, Land and Mining Surveyor.
