The Wallabi, which left Westport on Saturday the 18th at 4 p.m., had moderate westerly breeze as far as Rock's Point, and arrived at Nelson at noon on Sunday, leaving again on Wednesday evening at half-past 7, and experiencing light westerly winds as far as the Buller, where she arrived on Thursday night at 11, crossing the bar at 7 yesterday morning. She brings the Rev. Mr Cramp, Captain Souter, of the late Tasmanian Maid, passengers in the cabin, and 5 in the steerage. She has 30 head of cattle, and about 20 tons of cargo. She sailed again yesterday evening, taking over 2000 ounces of gold for shipment,
The Southland went out of harbor for a short trip outside, believing that there was a vessel waiting to enter. She proved to be a schooner steering southward, and took the outward channel past the Steeples. The Bruce left Ilokitika at a quarter to 7 on Friday morning, with 9 passengers, arriving at the Grey at 9, where she coaled and took on board 6 passengers. Left at noon and reached Fox's at half-past 3, loving again at 4 a.m., and arriving at Westport at halfpast 6 yesterday evening.
