PORT OF WESTPOB-T. HIGH WATER. This Day 9.12 a.m 9.36 p.m. ARRIVED. January 23—Kennedy, s.s., Carey, from Hokitika and the Grey. N. Edwards & Co., agents. DEPARTURES. January 23 Kennedy, s.s., Carey, for Nelson. Waipara, s.s., Baseand, for Hokitika and intermediate ports. EXPECTED ARRIVALS. Nightingale, barque, from Melbourne. Leonidas, schooner, from Melbourne. Eieovt, schooner, from Melbourne. Northern Light, from Melbourne. VESSELS IN PORT. Ketches—Brothers and Sister, Rambler, Mary, Excelsior. Cutter—Dart. Schooner—Rambler. Steamer —Southland. The Bs. Kenndly, Captain Carey, left Hokitika for W'estport and intermediate ports on Wednesday morning, and discharged both and cargo at Greymouth and Fox's. She crossed the bar at an early hour on Thursday morning, and having landed passengers and cargo proceeded on to Nelson shor;ly afterwnrds. The Kennedy brought the i ews of the wreck of the p.s. Tasmaniun Maid. The Waipara, Captain Baseand, sailed for Hokiiika and intermediate ports yesterday evening at 10 o'clock, with cargo and passengers. The Excelsior, ketch, Captain Bell, was towed in by the Southland on Wednesday evening. She left Riverton, laden with coals, on the 22nd ult, and after a protracted voyage caused by the stormy weather, which necessitated her to take shelter several times before she managed to reach this port.
