The Grey River Argvs, of the 11th and 14th iiift., says:—We are glad to be able to congratulate the owners of the p.s. Charles Edward on the re-launching of their vessel, although a few hours ago we feared that we should have to tell a different tale. The Ci'arles Edward was all ready for being run down the ways in the afternoon ; the Nelson was waiting in the stream, witli a line aboarl ready to tow her up when she got afloat, and everything seemed to promise a. successful launch. The signal for knocking away the chocks was given, but just as she got on the lower ret of the ways they spread out, and of •course dropped her on the sand, with her bows afloat. As the tide made the current canted her head to the northward, thus exposing her broadside to the swell, and at last she was placed bio.idsido on to the bf-ach. A sigral was run up for the Disjach. which was in the roadstead, to come io her assistance, but through seme c:iusc or other the tug did not have her tow, olthcugh botli were at anchor at the time. The Dispatch came in with the Florence at 9.15 p.m., and after she had brought her to the wltarf she returned to render any help that might be required, but by thiit time the Charles Edward was afloat, and was towed safely up to the wharf by the Ncl-on. The steamer Charles Edward left the river on Saturday afternoon in tow of the Nelson, and it is expected she will reach Nelson to day. Prior to her departure, a survey was n:ade by Captain Joyce and Captain Allardyce, Ila.bsr Master, and at their suggestion a strong shore was put between her keel and deck ahead of the engine-room to strerg'hen her. In other respects they reported that she was ft to make the voyage

Schooners—Eapid, Fancy, Ac'a, T! o Fancy has arrived with a cargo cf potatoes, after making rather a smart passuge to and from Onehunga. Ihe Ada has bem raised up on blocks by means of very long levers, (in the absence of the ordinary screws,) and is to receive a thorough overhaul. The Rapid having been sold, the new owner is getting her ready to proceed to sea, the intei ;ion being to send her to Nelson, to make good any defects occasioned by her long sojourn in Constant B:iy.
