POLLING PLACE TOR ADDISON'S FLAT.

(To the Editor of the Westport Times and Charlestan Argus." Sir—l happened to have a case in Court during the time of the last Election for the Provincial Council in Westport. Well, I heard the Court was adjourned for half an hour and I went to have a beer; on returning I found I had been represented by somebody, I did not then care who. I think it is time the public should have something to say in the matter, not that because a man happens to belong to Nelson, be he present or not, he .is to be shoved in. I understand there is to be no polling booth at Addison's Plat. Now, this is the place to find the right man, and we will do so too, but must we waste a day in going in to vote. It strikes me as very like a dodge upon the part of the Nelson men, knowing well that a day's work is not always paid for by going into the Buller. If we have a polling place we can put our man in easily, and I could name one storekeeper who is sure to go in if he only consents to stand. He has been a miner in Victoria and Otago and an old colonist. Now, sir, can't you use your influence and get a polling place up here; try it. It is only fair to the the miners and yours, A Liggeb. Addison's Plat, Jan. 11.
