DEATH OF MR JAS. STRANG.

• Caiituktox, Tuesday. One of our pioneer settlers, Mr .Tames Strang, passed away peacefully yesterday, at liis residence, Carterton, at tlio age of 82 years. He camo out in the Lady Nugent in 1851, and took up the position of shepherd with the late Angus MoMaster, at Tuhitarata and Tupurupuru. Ten ycarsagohe bought Glenside sheep run which ho owned up to the timo of his death, although he had retired from taking any active part in its management for the last 14 yews. The funeral takes placo to-morrow at 9 o'clock in tbo morning. ,
