MONTHLY MEETING,

Tho ordinary meeting of the Board was held on Saturday the 28th of December PresentMessrs C. Forsberg (Chairman), P. W. H. Kummer, and P. Gleeson, The minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed, and correspondence outwards. < Correspondence inward was read: From the Colonial Treasurer, approving of loan of JSSOO for Mangatainoka Valley Eoad. From Commissioner of Crown Lands, declining to hypothecate thirds from section 3, Block I, Kopuaranga, Frjm Under-Secretary for Lands, •jtfting that subsidy for Mangaofonga road will be expended undor tho direct control of tho Assistant Surveyor General. From Secretary to the Treasury re 10 per cent ou loan of £I2OO for Mangamahoe Road. From tho same advising Board that the extra 10 per cent on loan of £250 for Johnston's Eoad will shortly be paid. From the Engineer re final payment to McGinley and Co, also reminding the Board that any, balance of the loan for Mangamahoe Eoad should be expended in bricking the tunnels, and that this work should shortly bo attended to. From Mr A. W, Hogg, M.H.E., re Dorset's bridge,—Consideration of this was deferred, as Mr Dorset had neither written or attended the ingFrom Mr J. Wilton, declining to fall scrub on Dagg's road at the price offered by tho Board, A resolution was passed, striking a special rate of skt in the £, ou properties fronting on the Mangatainoka Valley Hoad, for repayment rf .lottri of £SOO for constructing %Broad. . G. K, Manning was granted an extension of time for beginning his contract on Jackson's iioail. It was decided to request the Engi? . neer to report oh all contracts in ■■ liand with a view to payments being I passed at the meeting to bo held on J tho 4th of January. Accounts amounting to £52 17s 2d were passed for payment,
