Tho above Association's shooting meeting, was held at Papawai, on Boxing Day, but was not a very successful gathering, Tho results of the various matches, are as follow

As it was thought advisable not to hold two days shooting this match was struck out of programme. AGGREGATE I'HMS For matches 1,2,3 and 4 0, Holiard, Petonc E.C 223 Capt. Wairarapa E.C. ... 220 The two last named wero a tic, and on firing off Capt, Oatcs beat Smith by six points, the scores beinc:; —Oatcs 12, and Smith G, for five shots at 700 yds range. W. C. team's match. Insufficient entries, match therefore abandoned. CHALLENGE CIT, W. Smith, N. Wairarapa B.C. 250 Capt, Oates, Gjcytown It.C. 210 GENERAL MEETING. A general meeting of members of the Wairarapa Rifjo Association, was held at Rogers' Hotel, Greytown, on Thursday last, Mr W, 0. 13ucbanan presiding, , A lengthy discussion pnsued with 1 regard to tltq non-success of the Rifle Meeting. Finally the following resolutions ■wero passed:-"That the names of tlio matches ho altered to 1 Mastertou, Carterton, Greytown and Featherston.'"
Resolved that the local committee fix a date for the next meeting about February, 1897, Mr W. C, Buchanan, M.H.R., was re-elected president, and Mr H, Wylie secretary. The usual votes of thanks were passed and other unimportant business was transacted, after whioh the meeting closed. /
