MASTERTON BOROUGH COUNCIL.
ORDINARY MEETING,
The regular monthly meeting of the Masterton Borough Council held last evening. Present—mW Worship tho Mayor, and Crs Hornblow, Feist, Chamberlain, Perry, Wagg and Sitnms, MINUTES. l'he minutes of the last mooting wore read and confirmed. BURGESS LIST. Tho application of Mary Gillespia to be placed on the Burgess List, was granted. DISINFECTANTS. The local agent for the N.Z, Loan & Mercantile Company, Mr Ewart, forwarded a price list for the supply of disinfectants, etc,
PERRY-STHEET, Correspondence with regard to Perry-street widening (as already published by us) was read, The Mayor said, with regard to Timothy-street, that the land onono sido belonged to MrWrigloy, and on the other side to the Town Lands Trust. -jk . Tho Clerk said the Town Lad? Trustoes were willing to give tho ten foet required. Mr Wrigley had also set apart land for widening the street. Cr Foist moved that tho conditions suggested by the Minister of Lands, for widening Perry-street, be agreed to. Cr Mutrie seconded, and tho motion was carried.
THE ÜBKARV. The Cloi'k to the Town Land! Trustees wrote stating that a grant of £SO for the purchase of books for the Public Library had been made. On the motion of Cr Feist a vote of thanks was accorded the Trustees, and tho conditions imposed agreed to. AUCTIONEER'S LICENSES. Tlib applications of Messrs Hornblow, .Sinims, and J. lorns for auctioneers' licenses were granted. . HAUXCE SHEET. The balance sheet for the halfyear, duly audited, was placed before tho Council. report. . . The report of the Works Committee was read and adopted. iiexkvoijKN't trust. Or Hornblow moved, in accord, ance with notice given, that the second half of the gas rate be not collected. He thought they could do without it, and the taxpayers did not want to pay more than {boy could help.
