The draft of four good our liberals just sent up NKWLOitns. to the Legislative Council was exceptionally good. It is true that the veteran Mr W. C. Smith, of Waipawa, was once deemed to be the most unpresentable member of the Lower Houso, but now-a-days he would be regarded as one of the more presentable of legislators. The times have changed, but Mr W. C. Smith romains the same. Mr Henry Arkwright, of Marton, is a distinctly good appointment and we fail to see how exception can be taken to the " Only Jones" of Oamuru. This pair of journalists may possibly influence tho Government to treat the Press of the Colony with a little more fairness and consideration. The fourth lord is Mr Richard J. Keeves, a friend of Mr Seddou, who was defeated by the O'llugau for Inaiigahiia at the last general election, and who is quite good enough to represent the mining interests in the Upper House.
