The Wesleyan District Synod opened its sittings yesterday morning in Wellington. Laymen were not present but will take their scats to-day at the financial session, There wore present yesterday—liers. W. Ilauinbcr (District Chairman), Kirk, ftowse, Carr, Dukes, Salter, Ward, Frost, and Messrs lianderson and Sussex (tfome Missionaries) The Her. T. G. Carr (West Coast) was appointed secretary, and Iter. W. Salter fOtago) reporter to the yMtomk. Iteference was made to the death of the Dev. Te Kote, Kative minister, Wairarapa. A letter of sympathy was ordered to he sent to the liev. 11. J. Murray, who is ill. After a full examination the Uev. S. H. D. I'eryman was passed in his year for ordination.
