Kecently Mr J. Payton coioutt resigned bis seat on the! oxuk llasterton Park Trust, moke, and the Trustees recommended tlio Government toappointMrA, li.D'Aroy as liissucccssor. Tbe Government has rejected this recommendation, and Ims appointed Mr W. 0. Oargill. We expect Mr Cnrgill to bo a useful and capable Trustee, and have no objection nt nil to'his occupation of the vacant scat. Unl why should Mr A D'Accy have been rejected ? We did not know till now that he was the " wrong color," but evidently he is or his name would not have been challenged. The incident shows tbe pitiful and petty feeling that animates the present administration.
