MESSRS SIMMS & MOWLEM'S STOCK SALE REPORT. Messrs Simms and Howlem held their usual lortuitihtly stoek sale in the yards. Queen-street, yesterday. Sheep were in pood entry, and although all the lines ol cattle advertised, did not put in an appearance, the yards were, nevertheless, wellfilled. Sheep buyers were in (jood attendance, and most lines changed hands before the close ol the day's proceedings, Contrary to expectations, cattle were not in demand, and uiany lots had to bo passe I out, owing principally to Iho reserves being too high. Pitts wero iu good entry, anil realised average prices. Horses were not of a saleable class, and one only changed hands. Fat ewes brought 6/5 to 8/1; store wethers in wool, 'J/-; ewes (shorn) 4/10 to ■l/11; hoggeis, 6/8; 2-tooth wethers, 6/6; fat cows, £llss; dry cows, £3 2s Cd; springing heifers, £3 10a; empty heifers, £2l9s; calves, 19/-; 18-month and 2-year old steers, 50/- j breeding sows, 25/6; woanorj, 0/- to 8/-.
