Recently in the a mttu: matter of shows, unneighbourly llasterton has striven to come on good terms with the southern end of tlio district, but on Thursday last a little surprise was sprung upon this end by a Carterton meeting forming a Waiiarnpa Horticultural Society. As t lie Masterton Society still exists, ami as no notice was given at this end of any intention to organise a District Horticultural Society, it is probable that this new Society will give rise to a very unneighbourly sentiment, and that tho good understanding which lias recently been arrived at with regard to shows will be broken up.
