Mr Geo. Fisher, a A coxtbast. candidate for the Mayoralty of Wellington, takes a different view from Mr Pownall of the pound, shilling t and pence morality. In a-published address he says You cannot buy " faithful service with money. You "will only obtain it when Duty, "' stern daughter of the voice of I. "God, 1 is mado the ruling principle "of men who have work to do." We do not regard Mr Fisher as quite a model, but he at least knows how to i' assume a virtue.
