CARTERTON TRADESMEN V. EXCELSIORS.
A pleasant match was played on the Oval, yesterday afternoon, between the ftbovo teams, resulting in a victory for the Excelsiors, by 42 ' runs on the first innings. The win- >. Jfors scored 74; Minillo (14), Wil- "; Wftnis (14), J. Wickens, junr. (13), being tho highest run-getters. Carterton responded with 32, Richarda (9) and Tumor (8), being the only ones to mnke a stand. Wickens and Mason wore the best bowlers for the Excelsiors, the lnttor'making a remarknblo average, viz., 7 balls, 2 '. runs, 5 wickets, McKonzio, DeLacey and Turnor, shared the honors in tho bowling lino, for Carterton. Messrs Harland and Bontley officiated as umpires. The individual scores were as follows :

A full meeting of delegates to the above Association was lick! in the Club Hotel Inst evening, all the nfliliated Clubs being represented. Mr W. C, Cargill occupied the chair. A letter was rend from Mr H. H. Beetham, accepting the office of Piesidcnt to the Association. Resolutions wero discussed and carried to the effect that" the teams ontored for the championship be handicapped as follows'.-Midlands, eleven men ; Excelsiors, twelve; «H'tertou, thirteen ; Fire Brigade teen ; and Excelsior Juniors, eighteen." " That any new member with reputation, joiningaChib shall have bis name forwarded to the Secretary of the Association, slating qualifications, with a view to readjust the handicaps, as the delegates mny think lit." " That no member of a first team be allowed to play for a second team, after having played twice in cup matches with r the senior team." " That no member of a second team be allowed to play more than twice in a first team without being qualified as a senior player." A Selection Committee consisting of Messrs Cargill, Johnston, and DeLacey, was formed to pick repro--1 sentative teams.
