SECOND DAY, About soven thousand porsons were present at the Wellington Show yesterday. His Excelloncy the Goveinor,Lady , Glasgow, and a party from Government House were amongst the spectators. The judges yesterday wore:— ' Cattle—Shorthorn, Mr H. Gnisford, Horsos—Draughts, Mr H, Camboll j blood and carriage horses, Mr R, Mcßae; saddlo horses and polo competition, Mr J, Stevens; leaping contests Messrs, J. Stevens and R, McKae. Poultry—Mr F. Rogen. Tlio show of blood horses was vory ' small, and there was only one draught stallion shown, Mr Ward's Glauccr , 11., which was awarded the championship. Mr Horcock's Hero, wlim, was also entered, was not on tire ground, his ownerhaviiigtole[*raphed from Carterton that he could not get
a horsc-hox, The saddlo horses wore a remark- * 0 ably fine lot of animals. Lismore, howevor, secured the premier award in tho class for the best walker. Maiden was ridden by Miss Rowe, and Alma by Miss Gilpin, Mrs jjfrE. Bidwill's Donovan, ridden bybsW owner, was veiy highly commended, and Mr Q, JI, Perry's Stella, ridden by Jljss Seddpn, spom'qd ut highly commended oard, ' * " Mr H, Maoe's Brooklyn, secured tho first prizo for entries best calculated to improve tho breed of carriage horses. His Excellency the Governor's pony Snuff won first prize in the 15 hands class. Mr A. McKenzie's Nanki Poo, which took first prize at Carterton, taking second place. .
