Cummins, i The entries of sheep are made ut as follows:—Lincoln, 25; Ronme Marsh, 80; English Leicester, 7 Border Leicester, 8; Cotswold, 7 [ Southdown,46; Shropshire Down, I' Hampshire Down, 12; crossbred, 1 fat sheep, 48. In the Romuey Mara class rams were exceptionally gooi , The contests for the ehampionshij were betweon Messrs Gray Brothei and Mr A. Matthews, both well : known Wairarapa breeders. Messi Gray Brothers with a lino ran reserved for the Wellington Shov | were awarded the ehampionshij beating Mr Matthews' ram, whio won at Carterton. Mr Matthewi with his imported ewe (bred by J. J Gordon.of Kent), which was defeato by Messrs Gray Brothers at Cartel ton, on this occasion was awardo the championship, Messrs Gra Brotherssecured severalother prizol The principal exhibitors were;Messrs G. Wheeler, Halcorabe; '1 P. Allen, Lower Eutt; W. B. Aller Clareville; M. J. H. Jackson, Pea thereto*; H. Eglington, Hutt; Bid will Brothers, Pihautea, G, H Scales, Lower Hutt. The Lincoln sheep were asuporio lot. The principal exhibitors were —Mosßrs T. Tanner, Hastings Perry Bros., Masterton; J, Rayner Masterton; W. C. Buchanan, Glad stone; J. Stuckey, Rangitumau Mr T. Tanner's ram, which won tin championship at the Metropolitai Show at Christchurch, was beatei by a ram bred and exhibited b) Messrs Perry Bros,, of Masterton, There was only a Bmall exhibit o: Border Leicester. Messrs A, 0 Lang and G.Elgarwon champion ships for the ram and ewe respeo tively. A fine lot of Southdown sheep wen exhibited. The leading exhjbiton were Messrs W. C, Buchanan, P, 0 Tbrelkeld, J', Stuckey, and William! and Beetham, Mr Stuckey's Eng lish-brod ram was awarded a cham< pionship. The principal prize-takers in thi fat sheep class were Messrs Bidwil! Bros,, Iredale Bros,, Williams anc Beetbara, W, Booth, and W, 0 Buobanan, Mr J, Bayner,with two fine sheep secured championships for the besl ram and ewe in the Hampshin Down class, In cattle the entries were mad< npasfollows:—Shorfchorns,B; Here fords, 15; Fat Cattle, 29; Jersey i ; Dutch Priesian, 3; Polled Angus 6 ; Milking Cattle, 5; Ayrshire, 60 The quality all round wasgood. Ir the Hereford class the honours, how ever, were again carried off by Mi Stuckey. His bull Sir John, bred by himself, a massive creature and full of quality, secured the olampion ship. This animal, the judge : de olared, was one of the finest speoi mens of the breed he bad ever seer in New Zealand, ■ .
