A rumour has been the spread abroad to tho coming effect that at tho next KLEcriOiV. general election, Mr A. W. Hogg will stand for Otaki aud Mr C. A. Pownall take his place in Mastorton. Wo have asked Mr Hogg if there bo any truth in tho report, and his reply is laconic but to tho point. It is as follows:—"No truth in report. I
would not desert Masterton on any consideration," It would be curious to know who set the false .report rolling.
