FEATHERSTON NEWS.
From Our Oicn Correspondent. Featiiekston, Wednesday, Tho usual monthly meeting of tho Town Board was held on Monday evening. Present: Messrs J. Donald (chairman), J. G, Cox, C. Cnndy, W, Benton, W. Hodder, junr., A, McKenzie, and W. Nicols. The Treasurer reported a credit balance of £4l Is 9d. Accounts amounting to £3510s Gd, were passed. In response to a letter from tho Secretary of the Building Committee for tho new Library and Reading Room, askiug tho Board to allow their names and their Clerk, to bo added to tho Committoo, it was resolved to accede to the request. It was resolved to havo tho stand on the cricket ground painted, now that it has been removed and reconstructed. The Librarian forwarded a list of books suggested for the Library and it was resolved that tbey bo obtained. Last evening and through tho night heavy rain fell, with the result that tho Post OOico and Railway Station are surrounded by water onco more. Twice within four days is not bad! Surely after this tho Railway Department will do something in the matter.
