THE DEAN CASE
Received November 1,10 p.m. Sydney, November 1,
The trial of Crick, Meagher, Dean, Green and Mrs Reynolds, for conspiracy was continued to-day.
The evidence submitted for tho Crown so far is chiefly in the direction of proving that Meagher and Crick were noting in coucerfc from an early stago of the Dean case. Tho evidence also seoks to prove tho contention of the Crown Prosecutor that a man named Gaol, who gavel important evidence for tho prosecution when Dean was first charged, was arrested on tho eve of the criminal trial on a bogus chargo of bigamy, which Meagher had induced Gael's wife to prefer in order to keep him out of the way. Nothing fresh or startling has boon disclosed.
Dean complained in Court to-day that ho was being starved in prison. Subsequently it was discovered that his counsel had promised to supply him with lunch, but failed to do so, and therefore the authorities were not to blame.
