THE DEAN CONSPIRACY TRIAL.
Sydkkt, October 31. The trial of Crick, Meagher, Dean, Green and Mrs Eeynolds, for conspiracy, began to-day. The whole day was occupied in tho statement of the caso for the Crown, in proving the Police Court evidence and tho speeches in Parliament by Crick, Counsel for the dofence strongly condemned the Government for allowing Sir Julian Salomons to leave the Colony, as lie was a material witness, and declared that, having offered Dean money to got away, ho was as much a conspirator as the accused. lieccivcd, October 31, noon. , Sydney, October 31. The Crown Prosecutor said lie ■ would be able to prove Meagher was fully aware of Dean's guilt in tho very early stages of the case and I purposely failed to question Smith - the chemist, also that Crick knew all about tho proceedings and consulted and gave advice in the matter.
