For the first time of late tiik years the Wairarapa - wairakafa Show has a clear field to snow, itself, and will represent . _ the agricultural and pastoral interests of an undivided district. This is, from oue point of view, a matter for sincere congratu- . lation, We have always advocated district rather than mere local interests in enterprises of this character ' and sincerely trust that the public will take a pride and interest in making the attendances at this week's _ Show " a record," It must howiv ever be borne in mind, that under ls tho stimulus of opposition, the Wairarapa Pastoral Association £ made a very vigorous development, Now that this stimulus is withdrawn, s, there may be tendency to rest upon s, past laurels, but wo have faith in its j" energetic Secretary, to whom so much of its past success has been due, and he will, we feel sure, be equal to the responsibilities that devolve upon him now that his field of operations is enlarged.
