Mr F. H. Wood reports as under o! the Block Balo bold by him At his Taratahi yards yesterday. Kntries ol sheep wore not numerous, but the cattle yards were wellfilled. There was a good attendance of buyers, and the bidding lor sheep was spirited, but cattle weto hard to quit; prices showing a downward tendenoy; sheep maintaintd feat eale rates, lor equal quality. The stock yarded was not, as a whole, upto tho required standard of quality. This, however, Is generally the case at this time of the year. Prices aro quoted as under: - Fat ewes, shorn, 7/3 to fl|-; hoggets in the wool, mixed sexes, 7/3 toB/4; shorn hoggets, 3/6; calves, 20/- to 25/- ; yearlings, 30/-; 18-months-slecrs and heifers, 4QJ-; heifers in calf, 60/- to 85/-; dairy cows, 60/- to 100; 3-year-old steers, 75/- to 81/-; (at cows, medium, 80/-; horses, £1 to £l3.
