CARTERTON BOROUGH COUNCIL
From Our Own Correspondent. Carterton, Monday. The following is the result of the poll for the election of a new Council, last Saturday : Belvedere Ward—James Stevens, 100 votes; G. A. Fairbrother, 7G; John Strang, 73; James Bayliss, 70; A. I, Whyie, 57. Richmond Ward.—Willio Moore, 37; Joseph Applin, 34; John Bussett, 34; R, il. Armstrong, 25; Geortfo ijeacli, 24; Tlios. W, Telford, ! 15. Lixims Ward.—John Udy, 33; William P. Allen, 27; Adam Armstrong, 21; W. llercock, 20; Alex, Hughnn, 13. Tlie first three named in each Ward, were duly elected. Tho election was conducted in a friendly spirit throughout the day. About 100 peoplo were assembled at the declaration of the polls.
