After the Tolegraph Office closed j at 2 a.m., clause 7 of tho Public Works and Government Railways Act Amendment Bill was still under discussion, Sir R. Stout moved thatno railway refreshment license be issued for | longer than thirteen months.—Lost by 29 to 24. An amendment moved by 11 r O'Regan to make theterm not longer than eighicon months was lost by a similar majority. Mr Seddou then moved to make the term not exceeding three years. This was lost by 27 to 25. Mr Seddon next moved that the term should not exceed two and a-lmlf years, which was earned by 27 lo 25. On the motion of tho Piemt'er, clause 8, which provided thai officers in the railway service should not he deemed to bo civil servants, was struck out on tho voices MrMcLachlan moved a new clause! imposing an annual fee of forty pounds for a license of lailway refreshment rooms. This was lost by 26 lo 14. The Bill was reported with amendments, and put through its liual si ages. The Fisheries Bill passed through I Commitlee without amendment, and: was read ut third time and passed. , At !).&) a.m., tho House adjourned' till 7.30 p.m. on Monday. :
