ORDINARY MEETING. The regular fortnightly meeting ' of the Masterton Borough Council was held last evening. Present— His Worship the Mayor, and Cra • Hornblow, Yates, Mutric, Simms, i Chamborlain, Feist and W. Perry. MINUTES. The minutes of the last meeting ' were read and confirmed. r UUItfiKSS ROM,. Both the above applications were granted. ' \ AKKO.UK.SI. W. Redmond wrote asking that something be done to the gutters in front of the Queen's Hotel Tho matter was referred to the i Works Committee. GLADSTONE ROAD. The Clerk to the Wairarapa North County Council wrote with reference to the expenditure on the Gladstone ' aud Boundary Roads. Tho Clerk stated ho had written for further information. Tho matter was left in abeyanc* till next necting. ri.NAI, PAYMENT, Norbury aud Trevor wrote applying foi the final payment on thoiV contract at tho Masterton Gas . Works. "'''• The application was granted, i CARTERTON SHOW. -W The Secretary to the Wairarapi A. & P. Socioty wroto asking the Council to proclaim Friday, November Ist, a public holiday on account of the Carterton Show, » It was resolved to proclaim a half, holiday as requested. i THE GAS TASK. Messrs Penty &, Forde, wrote stating that the new gas tank had'boen oxamincd and found to be in good condition, und recommending the Payment of Messrs Norbury aud 'revor's account. NEW VERANDAH. Mosßrs Peuty and Forde mader application for permission to erect a verandah in front of Mr Wickens' shop. Permission was granted subject to the usual conditions. OAS report, . The Gas Committee's report was read and adopted, and accounts as recommended were passed for £&> ment, 'jr I'EKRT SIRI'ET. Cr Hornblow moved that propoj lines be lakon for the Perry-street extension, and that Mrßawsou be ttslrucled to prepare a plan of the street. Or Hesscy seconded and the motion was carried. Other matters, reported elsewhere were dealt with and the Council ; adjourned,
