MONTHLY MEETING. The regular monthly meeting of tho Mastodon Town Lands Trustees was hold yesterday afternoon, Present—Messrs 0, E. Daniell (in-the i * chair), It. H. liornblow, J. It was resolved to call tenders for routing tho whole of tho Trust sec- . tions not at ]jresont leased, lilt CASEI.IIEIII!, Considerable discussion took place with regard to tho proposed ourrondor of Mr Caselberg's leases. , Mr Kenall suggested that tlie matter should bo held oyer till the ■ attendance of the Chairman, Mr W. I Lowes Mr Hornbloiv proposed that tho i special resolution dealing with Mr ! Caselberg's sections be confirmed, i Tho resolution was varied so that ! tho tenements should bo loft in ro- | pair, subject to the approval of tho I Trustees' architoct. The motion was seconded by Mr , Vilo and carried, the acting-Chair-t man (Mr Daniell) dissenting. Ho v . i said ho entered his protest • he wished to see tho matter f by arbitration. . A I'KIZE KOI! COTTAGE GARHENS. The Mastorlon Horticultural Soci iety wrote asking that the Trustees i consider the matter of granting the sum of £lO for the best kept cottago garden, The letter was laid on the tablo. LEAVE 0F AIISEXCE. Leave of absence was granted to | the Chairman on account of illness, J l TUE IIOUK OK MEETING. ' The acting Chairman stated that ' during the day in company with tho | Secretary, lie had seen tho Chairman ; who was unable to be present, and I ho had stated that he would not be in ■ a position to attend meetings in tho l evening, and suggested that in future s tho meeting should bo hold at threo o'clock in tho aftotnoon. 1 It was decided that, the hour of [ meeting should be altered as suggested.

On tlio motion of Mr Vile, seconded by Mr Hornblow, it was * decided to procure forms for enrol- * mont on the voters' list. |A TOWN' HALF, PLANS, 111,,, Mr Vilo moved in accordance with notice, tlmt a bonus of £25 be offered for designs for a now Town Hall, ami that a Committee of the wholo be set up to decide on tlio dimensions and arrangement of the building, mid that tliey he empowered to * * advertise in tlio two local papers, mid send circulars to tlio architects throughout the colony at a cost not to exceed £o.-Seconded by Mr Hornblow. The Chairman stated that the usual practice among architects in a matter of this kind, was that the successful competitor had the first f right of supervising the construction ' of tlio building, the bonus being considered as part of the commission, and failing taking up the work, thoy were paid the bonus. The acting-Chairman said that the opinion of the Chairman (Mr Lowes) wns tlmt they could not pledge the funds for this bonus till after the pnblio had said by a poll that the Hall was to bo erected. The resolution was carried, the * costs to bo paid out of the montfiA' already allocated by resolution, TKCIIMCAI, SCHOOL. In accordance with notice, Mr Daniell moved that the report of the Committee on Technical |idpcatiop he adopted, Mr Hessey said that ho was afraid ' the subject was going to lead to ft considerable amount pf expense fpr ' nothing. Paring his 6tay in Sydney he bad visited the Technical School there, and found that pnly two clfiaaea - freehand drawing and mechanical qpgineoritg—were attended to any extent. For the first quarter or half year the classes were fairly well attended, b|it then they dwindle down to nothing.
