There were four candidates nominated yesterday to fill tbree vacancies on the Borough Council. An election will take placo. At the rate the Borough overdraft is going up, it seems a sure thing to predict a higher rate noxt year. The Rev. J. Lymburn, of Martiffborough, showed some excellent magio lantern views in the Presby. terian Church here last Tuesday night. Refreshments were supplied by the ladies of the congregation and banded round during the evening. The Band played several nice selections in Main-street last Saturday night under the leadereh(j||>f Mi'M.R.Varnham. % Thoßev.S.J.andMrsGibsonlro at present in Wellington the Wesleran Church Exhibition which is being held there, _ The cricketers down this way intend commencing the season in real earnest. •
