Tin; PROPHETS OF INOCULATION.
In much the same manner that England boasts of Dr. Tanner, and Germany of Professor Kocli, France is pioud of the late Dr. Pasteur. These illustriousscientists are the heroes of medicine. But whether inoculation, or blood-poison-ing, is a boon or a misfortune to humanity, lime alone will tell. There are sane people who disbelieve in this remedial method, although it appears to be the one on which the future triumphs of the medical profession will bo developed, lfciseven said that hydrophobia has increased amazingly in Europe since Dr, Pasteur proclaimed his discovery for | sterilising it. However this may be, the late Dr. Pasteur was admittedly one of the greatest scientists of the age. Like Sir Isaac Newton, he found a pebble on the shore of the sea of knowledge.
