' At the meeting of the Bank of Australasia the profit and loss account showed a credit balance of £50,495. The deposits amount to £12,699,709; securities and cash items, £5,545,182; bills and advances, £11,737,763. The directors, in their report,U regret that the state of busiuesn ifjfi the colonies for the half year ously restricted advances, and diminished exchange profits, Later reports indicate a growing belief that the oxtrcine pointof tlio depression lias been passed.
