THE OEAN CASE.
MR MEAGHER DENIES THE CONFESSION, Received September 30,1 a.m. Sydney, Septembor 29. Mr Meagher, in reply to an intorviower, said that the statements of Sir Julius Salomons were utterly and absolutely without foundation. Ho does not regard them as serious, but the machination of a crafty or disordered brain. Dean, he says, never made any confession, and maintained his innocence throughout. Mr MeadhcL- says he (irmly believes in Dean's innocence. Sir Julian Salomons bad booked a passage to Melbourne, but he has now decided to stay pending Mr Meagher's statement to tho Legislative Assembly on Tuesday, and should he think it necessary he will reply in the Legislative Council.; Mr Meagher bints that tliero willy bo some peculiar revolutions when ho * talks.
