A STEAMER'S STEWARD MURDERED. Beeeived September 25,10.20 a.m. Sydney, September 25. A youth named Thomas McLean, assistant-steward on the steamer Australasian, went on board early this morning, and quarrelled with tho steward, Thos. Coulson, and stabbed him in the breast, Coulson dying iu a few minutes. Whon arrested, McLean stated he was drunk, and that Coulson pulled him out of his bunk and nearly smothered him. He then used the knife in self-defence, not intending to kill the man.
