London, September 16. The Arabs on tho mainland resent Great Britain proclaiming a protectorate ovor Baluein Island, in the Persian Gulf,

Many armed Dhows assembled in the vicinity and threatened an attack on the Britishers, It is believed the Arabs are in collusion with a faction of tho Islanders.

The British warships gave the Arabs an hour to disembark and than destroyed forty Dhows and quelled all opposition.
