Tliero was a big attendance'at tho meeting of the Debating Society last night, when tho subject for discussion was whother the Drink Traffic or the Land Question would be the greater agent in the solution of tho problem of poverty. Messrs Haw-, kins and Gould led the respective sides,' and members spoke, The debate was adjourned for a week. • At a meeting at Mangatainoka last night, it was decided to form an Horticultural Society and to hold an Autumn Show. Mr McLbskey was elected President; Mr Richardson, Vice-president; aud Mr Monk, Secretary.
