From Our Own Cormjmulent. Monday. A mooting of the new Library and Heading Room Committee, was held onSaturday. Present-Rev. T. Porritfc and Messrs Toogood, J. G. Cox, Knowles, Knivin, Kent-Johnston, and Williamson (Secretary). The Secretin')' reported that there was now £ 190 promised towards the project, and as a lot of people have not been interviewed yet, there is every probability of the nqgded £250 being forthcoming.
A meeting of the Stewards of <tlio W.R.C., was held at the Empire Hotel, on Saturday afternoon. Present—Messrs W, E, Bidwill (who was re-elected Chairman), J. S. Candy, C. It. Bidwill, G. Tally, H. Morrison, G, Rovnolds, W. J. Nix, A. M, Wilkinson and W. 0. Williams.
The Treasurer reported the overdraft at the Bank of N.Z., as £172 7s lid.
Accounts amounting to £145 9s, woro passed for payment. Cooper, who was recently disqualified, again wrote asking for bis 'disqualification to bo removed, but the Stewards could not see their way to do so. Sir Jos. Tocker was appointed permanent custodian at (is per diem. It was unanimously resolved that the Delegates at the Racing Conference should give notice of motion to havo a universal definition of tho word hack. Messrs W. Bidwill, J. S, Cundy, Wilkinson and Williamson, were appointed a. Course Committee.
It was resolved to hold the next meeting of Stewards at Tanlierenikau, when anything that wants seeing to can be dealt with. It was resolved that none of the Club's property should bo lent without the Secretary's permission, A meeting of the Trustees of the Bacecourse, was to have been held on Saturday last, but it lapsed for want of a quorum.
The Feathersfon Road Board on Saturday last, dealt with tendors as follows Repairs to Underbill Road, T, Lawry Is 9d per yard; lid ward. Kelly Is 4d per yard, (accepted), 74 chains drain and formation at, KahaUtara 14s 6d chain; replacing culvert £1 2s, carting aud putting in one pipe culver JJllss, (accopted); Edward Kelly £1 7s 9d per chain, (declined), To Ruakapapatnua—Mr Donald reported that, with regard to tenders for the above, the Commissioner of Crown Lands advised that it would bo better to invite fresh tenders for 10, 12, and. 14ft. formation'. This was done, with the result that'the Land Board at its last meoting approved of the tenders for 12 feet work to D. Alexander for contract 23, at £92' ss, and E. Kelly for contract 22at£12212s,and an additional £lO for advertising aud other expenses,
