Sydney, September 3,
An unpleasantly hot gale has been blowing all day, and tho city has boon smothered in clouds of dust.
Mason Bros.' large store in Sussex street was unroofed and partly demolished, blocking traffic. Several people narrowly oscnped being injured. Other buildings were slightly damaged.
