WOMEN'S CHRISTIAN TEMPERANCE CRUSADE.

The third annual meeting of tho Masterton 'Women's Christian Tom- ' perauco Crusade was held last night in tho Proshyteriau Church. There was a very good attondanco of those interested in temperance work. The Secretary's and Treasurer's reports were read and adopted j \ earnest and stirring addresses worafc given by tho Rov. Robert Wood anflf Mr J, G. W. Aitken, of Wellington, the former specially bringing before the meeting the subject of Bible in schools, it being ono of tho specifiod. i departments of work fortho Crusade, and tliß latter giving a raqst interesting account of tho work and usefulness of tho Boys' Institute in Wellington.

Mr W. M. Easthope also gavo the audience an account of the formation of a Juvenilo Rechabite Tent in our midst. Unavoidably tho address looked forward to from the Rev, J, Dukes had to be omitted owing to thelateness of the hour, Miss Dukes and Miss Powell both gave excellent recitations and during tho ovening refreshments were handed round, and samples of tho literature lately received from England and Scotland distributed.

Those who had not already signed the petition to Parliament to. allow the Bible to be read in schools, were afforded the opportunity to do so, the petition being laid on the table by the Rev, Hoborfc Wood,

Tho members of the Crusade feel.stimulated by the meeting, to enterJß with fresh zeal and energy into vrork of the coming year.
