ORDINARY MEETING. j The ordinary meeting of the Board ; was held on Saturday, 31st August. t Presont, Messrs Forsberg (chairman), P, Gleeson, J. F.' Heckler, and F. \f. - H. Kumnier. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed and correspondence outwards. Mr Lars Larson wrote requesting services of surveyor.—lt was decided to inform him that his request could not be agreed to, as it would lead to other persons making similar requests. Mr M. Kennedy wrote desiring the Board to inako an arrangement with him respecting tho felling, grassing, and leasing of Headman's Resorvoon , Wangaeliu Road-As this Reserve ' is not yet vested in the Board,' it is not yet in a position to make any terms with Mr Kennedy. Mr J. Rutherford wroto about repairs to culvert near his house, and narrating in graphic terms the' accidonts—past and prospective—resulting from defects in this culvert.—lt was resolved to ask Mr Rutherford to get the repairs done at a, cost not exceeding 30s. Mr C. Dixon waited on tlie Board and made a demand for a large extra payment on bis contract on Dagg's Road,.—As tlie report' is unfavorable, it was decided tp inform Mr. Dixpn tlrat hjs churn cannot be entertained. Messrs Tyson and McFaddan's offer to purchase timber standing on the Kaiparoro Road was accoptod, on ! condition that £5 bo paid down at 1 olico and balance before 27th Decern--1 bar noil. | It was resolved to instruct the 1 Engineer to take no further action 1 with reference to lining tunnels on ■, Road with brick ~ until further notice from tho Hoard, i and also to curtuil expenses as much . as possible on (Jlelaud's Road, as funds are. limited, The Clerk was instructed to write ir to the Commissioner of Crown Lands n Oometory and Recreation Reserve

Accounts amounting to £41712s wore passed for payment. Walsh, £169; Fletcher, £lB3 10s. Contracts No. 119 and 120 combined, Hauberg and Askew (accepted), £247 19s 6d. Contract No. 121, widening, formation, etc., Person and Madsen, £64; J, Walsh, £B7;O.Oslen,£B9lss; A, Palmer (accepted), £6O, lining, of Tni'anaki,.and lionaync of Auckland, both of whom were recently ordered off the football grottud, have been reported by Mr Firth, ltcfcrce, to the H.'/j.
