Di:.u; Sni,-0n behalf of myself, relations and friends, I herewith tender you our wannest thanks for your outspoken and just criticisms on tho abortive and unjust verdict returned by the jury in the Mastorton [murdercase, to us here, knowing i Somerville for the last six or seven years fo be a sane and responsible man, and knowing also that lie knew what ho was doing when ho committed the deed, the verdict camo as a terrible shock and was received with the greatest outbursts of indignation ever known in the district. Again, in thanking you, 1 hope that you will usoyour able and willing pen till something is done to prevent a similar miscarriage of justice ever occurring again.
