GENERAL MEETING. . 1 A meeting of members of the Mas- | terton Agricultural and Pastoral Association, was-held at the Club I Hotel, yesterday afternoon, the 1 President (Mr W, H. A letter was read from the > Department of Agriculture, with . reference to tho Frozen Meat Con-
ference, to be held at Wellington on September sth. It was resolved to ask Mr D. J. Cameron to act as delegate of the Association, at the Conference. The Chairman said, if possible, be should be present also, as he had been appointed to represent the Meat Export Company. The resignations of Messrs W. Day, P. and J. Gleeson, were received and accepted, Messrs A. W. Cave, William Perry, Walter Perry, It. McKay and W. J. Welch, were appointed a Programme Committee. The sub-Committee appointed to doal wj/th a proposed alteration of the new Show Ground boundary, as suggested by Mr A. R. Bunny, reported in favour of the same, and the report was adopted. Mr J, McGregor asked if t h e Socioty intended to assist the Carterton Society to make a big Spring Show, so that Carterton might follow tho load and assist them in the autumn. He should like an expression of opinion,
The Chairman said he was glad the matter had beon brought up. They should all pull together for the benefit of tho Valley and bury all differences and bittorness. He hoped tho members of the Masterton Association would help the Carterton people to make their show a big success, and he was sure the Valley people would help them in the, autumn. Mr Lewis said Mr W. Lowes had tho names of several prominent members of tho Wairarapa Society to propose as members of the Mas-1 terton Association. Mr McGregor said that the best way of showing their good feeling towards Carterton, was to send as many exhibits as possible, and enter into tho mattor heart and soul, with the expectation that the Wairarapa people would roaiprocate in the autumn. The meeting then adjourned,
