Rtceiml Atnjnsl 21,11 tun. Syuhey, August 21. Jlupliesou. the New Zealand cyclist, lias broken the record from Brisbane to Sydney, which ho accomplished in 5 days 13* hours. Tho previous records were held by Long and McGregor, of Sydney, throe years ago, which was 6 days 17 hours, Mupliesen had a most arduous journey, as the roads were very bad, and for a long distance h had to dismount and carry his machine. Ho also fell in with a deal of heavy rain and snow and had a nasty spill at AVollobi about 100 miles from Sydney. He had to do tho greater part of the remainder with only one pedal. But for this mishap and a buckled wheel he would have accomplished his journey iu five days as intended.; • He rode from Glen Imies nearWjjjL 1 miles without sleep.
