Memiourxk, August 20. Tlie petition to wind up the City of Melbourne Bank lias Leon adjourned by consent with a view to a possible arrangement. Hoiiakt, August 20. The Council, dealing with tho Inscribed Stock Bill reduced the amount proposed to bo borrowed, from half to a quarter of a million, which they consider ought to bo sufficient to meet the wants of the Treasurer.
